In 1932, from a small shop of about 79 cubical yards, Dong-A Pharmaceutical was created. Started as a wholesaler of pharmaceutical products, Dong-A has grown to be one of the largest companies in Korea. Since becoming the #1 seller in the Korean domestic pharmaceutical industry in 1967, Dong-A has maintained that leadership position while devoting themselves to preserve “Life and Nature”.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical was the first of its kind in South Korea to establish a research laboratory. The company has put extensive efforts into the developing new medicine, and also continued and concentrated investments have been made in R&D to create innovative medicine resulted in the development of various products from Diagnostic reagent for Hepatitis-B in 1985 to the recent antiulcer agent, Stillen® (Containing Eupatilin) for gastritis.

Currently, a wide-range of research products are in various stages of development including innovative new drugs, biopharmaceuticals and newly formulated products. Dong-A, with focus on improving the human welfare, will continue to work to achieve its goals of “Creation of Pharmaceutical Products that provide Happiness” in the global market.
